Halloween 2017

A few months before Halloween 2017, I discovered this adorable sewing pattern from Simplicity.

So of course, this meant that we needed to dress up as Jurassic Park for Halloween.

For R's costume, I decided to use "realistic" dinosaur colors. Since we live in Texas and Halloween can be either 90 degrees or 50 and raining, I decided to make it with flannel instead of fleece. It ended up being rainy, and the flannel plus a layer underneath worked out perfectly.

The pattern included making feet, but for some reason I couldn't make the pattern work. I ended up taking the feet off and putting R in shoes. He didn't seem to mind.

As you can see, I was pretty pregnant at the time. C and I went as Jurassic Park employees, which was pretty easy. I found the khaki shirts at a thrift store, bought the patches on Amazon, and voila! Our dinosaur did roar ferociously a bit, but he was pretty tame most of the time. :)
