Hats!

I love making hats. They are quick, generally pretty easy, and look adorable. Plus, the pattern pieces are small, and you can use fun fabrics! Since having R, I've made a lot of hats, particularly from McCalls 6762.

So far, I've made A, E, and F. F (the newsboy cap) was by far the most difficult, but I was still pretty happy with how it turned out.

E was pretty easy, though the seams on the brim (barely visible in this photo), were a little tedious. It does make the brim stand out more, which is useful for keeping the sun off the boys' faces.

One thing I've learned is that you can never have too many kid hats! We recently went on a trip to the Smoky Mountains, and I made a new hat for each boy. By the time we'd gotten to the zoo on our lunch stop on the first day of driving, R had lost his hat. We bought a new one at the zoo gift shop, only to find the original hat on the way back to the parking lot! Some kind person had found it and put it on top of a trash can.

Overall, I love this pattern and will definitely be using it again! I'll probably look for it when it's on sale so I can cut out new sizes without worrying!
