Halloween 2016

R was 3 months old, and it was our first Halloween for the three of us. The new Star Wars had just come out, and I really wanted R to be BB-8. I figured there would be baby BB-8 costumes everywhere. When I scoured the internet I found nothing, so I decided to make my own.

If you don't know, BB-8 is a cute, spherical droid who rolls around the latest Star Wars series being wonderfully sarcastic and generally adorable. He is basically one partial sphere on top of a ball.

I decided to decorate a white hat and long-sleeve onesie. Using a template I found online, I cut felt into the appropriate shapes and pinned, then sewed, them onto the onesie front and back.

For the hat, I had planned on buying a white fleece hat, but had zero luck. I ended up knitting my own white hat with dishcloth cotton. I decorated the hat again white felt, and also with black fabric paint.

I was pretty happy with how the onesie turned out!

In the end, R made a pretty cute BB-8, while C and I were Rey and Poe.
